Droid X Camera App Problem
My problem concerns not being able to change what scene mode the camera should be in. When I use the sliding tab menu on the right side of the screen, the top button allows the scene modes below:
Auto(Icon= "A"),
Portrait(Icon= Head and shoulders),
Landscape(Icon= Mountains and stream)
Sports(Icon= running stick figure),
Night scene(Icon=crescent moon and star),
Sunset(Icon= setting sun),
Macro(Icon= Tulip),
Steady shot(Icon=handprint)
The problem I have is that no matter what scene I try to pick,(Auto, sports, Macro) the icon in the upper left remains the mountains and stream Icon, and focus is forced to infinity, (like it should when it is in Landscape scene(mountains and stream)
Effect is set to "normal"
Picture Mode= Single shot
flash= Auto
No matter how I jigger the settings, the dang camera won't switch out of the "Landscape"scene (mountain and stream)
I have done a reset to factory settings, with no SD card in the socket, and the problem persists.
Using this:
NB:This is not an issue about screen orientation, it is not about weather the text or icons are arrange along the long side or short side of the screen itself, it is about the "landscape type of picture mode(shutter/aperture)", where the focus is set to infinity, no flash, etc. meant to take better pictures of rolling hills in the distance for example.

Using this:
- Turn off phone
- Press and hold Power key + Home hard key to power on the phone and bring up a triangle with an exclamation point inside next to a green Android graphic.
- Press Search hard key to show the Android recovery menu.
- Tap to select "wipe data/factory reset" (you can also use Volume buttons to scroll up or down in this menu)
- Press Menu hard key under "Ok" screen prompt (camera button can also be used to confirm selection)
- Handset will ask you to "Confirm wipe of all user data"
- Select "Yes -- delete all user data"
- Press Menu hard key under "Ok" screen prompt to start wipeout of phone, handset will begin to format handset showing progress with multiple lines of ellipses (....) (camera button can also be used to confirm selection)
- Handset may take from 5-20 minutes to format.
- When format is complete, press Menu hard key under "Ok" screen (or use the camera button) when prompted to reboot (Reboot system now will be highlighted)
- You will see either an open box and the green android graphic when handset is rebooting (or the red DROID eye graphic).
- Handset will be cleared of previous personal data, and you will need to start over with initial set-up process.
