Droid X2 CAMERA

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not impressed by the camera. I know it's not just my phone either, because I had a DX2 before this one that I got replaced because I bricked it. The camera is pretty ****ty for me. With flash on, pictures come out in blue (....wtf?). It's impossible to get a picture in the dark. Quality is not that great. Many times the picture comes out distorted. What's going on?

I use fx camera, like the pics. But I agree, camera is nothing special.

My camera takes great photos. But the consensus is that the X2s that do take good pictures are rare.

As to why I couldn't tell you, but a few of them actually take really great pics.

I've been using my X2 as my main camera these days. Sure, the pictures aren't professional but I think they are comparable to other $150 digital cameras.

What doesn't impress you about an 8mp camera on your phone? And what other camera phones do you feel take better photos/video

I totally agree. I came from the fascinate and the quality of pictures on the X2 are bad.

What about the phone?

We are still discussing the phone, right? How is the call quality and reception? For an 8 mp phone camera it's okay. Mine is acceptable. I am not having the blue issue that you speak of. But I bought this phone to talk and listen to people. All else is bonus, of fluff. Perhaps you need to buy a camera to take pictures?

i have a DX2 and the picture quality has taken a turn for the worse, not sure why but ever since last OS update the picture quality is terrible, the colors are all distorted.

The pictures on my phone turn out pretty good. I don't get a blue tint, and the flash seems fine on it.

The one thing I have noticed is that the Camera app sometimes takes an incredibly long time to open up. Sometimes its over 10 seconds, which is really bad IMO. I can hear (and feel!) the camera click on well before the app opens up.
