droid x will not update???

ok i have my cousins droid x rooted and he was running 2.1 forever well since then i have unrooted and factory reset his phone and i cant install the update. Everytime i download the update and install it just boots me into clockwork mod and then all i can do is reboot the phone and the update fails how do i fix this!!??

You probably need to sbf to what ever os version he is supposed to be on right now.

My brother in law had the same problem..he had to finally reset his phone completely from scratch.. Then it updated

Meaning wipe all memory clean...like when u first got the phone.
