Droid X stuck at "Big M"

Hi All,

I've been a long time lurker and have been loving my new droid x since August. I decided that I was going to install custom roms so I rooted and download the custom recovery. When i decided to flash the rom (for the record I have flash countless Touch Pro 2 roms so it wasnt my first time doing it) I must have messed something up because now I can not get passed the Big M loading screen ... I tried to go into recovery mode and reset my data/cache but that didnt fix it and also go into the bootloader and flash the sbf file. The only problem with flashing the sbf file is that I cannot get my computer to recognize motorolla's drivers (i am running 32bit windows 7) because whenever i plug in my droid x i get an error message saying failed to mount. What is my best option? Thanks guys

you need to be in the bootloader (hold volume down and camera when booting) to be able to use RSDlite

thanks for the reply but that is what ive been doing ... when i go into that and plug my phone into the computer the phone recognizes the usb data cable but the pc doesnt. i have also tried setting up RSD lite to first come first served device id mode but that doesnt seem to help at all

failed to mount? haven't seen anyone get that one. try uninstalling the drivers and reinstall, then put phone into bootloader mode and plug it in.

I'm a bit of a boot when it comes to my Droid x. I don't know the difference between rooted and non rooted, which is better. I don't know which task killer to get, whether or not a battery saver app such as juice saver is worth it. I appreciate any guidance

see the second post. and please dont thread jack. it's not good forum etiquette

thanks for the reply but i have already tried that any other ideas?

basically what seems to be the problem is that i cannot get windows to recognize the phone

Did you enable USB debugging mode on your X? And - you have plugged in your x before - without being in bootloader? And - you are using "PC" mode - not "mass storage " mode?

@ razorloves
i have tried it on all usb ports on my computer and on another windows 7 computer but with no luck. i have installed the drivers again but i still cannot get any luck. would using a different operating system like osx?

@ thepolishguy,
i cannot load my phone into android thus i have no way of checking for usb debugging, pc mode, or mass storage.

Make sure if you're using RSD lite you are replacing the .ini file, I'm sorry I don't have the one infront of me, if you're still having trouble I'll link it when I get home from work. But if you don't have that .ini replaced in the rsd directory it won't work correctly.

But rsd is what you'll need to do if you can't restore a back up from clockwork recovery, or restoring to factory settings isn't working, thank god the sbfs are up now :). Otherwise you may have been in serious trouble.

Ah so it is. Sorry haven't updated mine in a while. Have you access to a different computer to troubleshoot whether its just the computer?
