Droid X issues, need some advice, or links too! :)

Well, here's my situation...my dad got a Droid X late last fall, maybe mid summer not really sure to be honest. He liked it a TON right until the point that Verizon made the switch from Froyo to Gingerbread. Finally the other night I got around to rooting it using Droid 3 easy root script v7, installing Rom Manager, and flashing clockwork recovery. Everything went flawlessly, even was able to make a backup with clockwork...then it all went downhill. I went to deploy a free Rom from Rom manager, it downloaded and installed and then refused to reboot. Clockwork recovery console will not initialize and I cannot get it to go past the red Motorola logo. The phone still boots into the bootloader (30.04) and will go into stock Android recovery, so from there Ive tried doing several factory wipes and cache cleans to no avail. Next thing Ive attempted is doing an sbf flash. The phone connects to RSD Lite 5.3.1 and Ive used "SHADO_X6_2.3.34_SYSTEM-ONLY" <-- that sbf file. RSD tells me that it finishes and that the phone needs to be manually rebooted so I pull the battery and quickly put it back into bootloader mode, RSD shows 'Finished' and 'PASS' result, I unplug the cord and reboot only to see the same result, its hung up at the red Motorola logo. As far as my understanding goes of "bricked" phones this one isn't, however Im clueless as to where I should turn next...as a side note I also found this article wondering if it had anything to do with the problems Im having right now Motorola responds to Droid X bootloader controversy, says eFuse isn't there to break the phone -- Engadget Thanks in advance for the help and hopefully someone will have something, I really don't wanna have to buy a new one for him :frown:

To recover it you want to run a full SBF and not a system only one. If he would rather Froyo than Gingerbread then you can flash an SBF for that and then block the OTA if you root it while it is on Froyo.

Alright, in which case where would I go about finding a full SBF? I either find system only ones or, ones that are "no longer available" with the download mirrors.

Well sorry to say I can not actually post a link to it for you, it is against policy, but I will help you find it.

Do you want the one for froyo or GB?

That's easy enough. I just did this to verify it for you:

-Google "droid x sbf files"
-the first result will get you to where you need to be
-download the first file (VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01, it will say 2.2.1 in the description)

Then just flash it with RSD and you should be good to go.

I am going to be getting ready for work soon. But let me know how you make out.

And if you have any questions unfortunately it may take me a while to get back to you but I will eventually.

Alright thanks much, Im waiting for the file to finish downloading. I will post up as soon as i have a result!

Make sure you do. Obviously you have been using RSD and that is where people usually have issues so I am sure you will be fine :)

Well that was MUCH easier than I thought, Thank you so very much, I wish there was a way i could tip you a few bucks!!! :icon_ banana:

Awesome, glad it worked!!

And a thank you and a "like" is always more than enough. No tips necessary :smile-b:
