Droid X flashed to metro pcs. If I update..

I have a Droid X flashed to Metro Pcs, I would like to update by the ota updates, but how would the update affect the flash?

Like, if I update, doed my phone reconnect to Verizon?

If you do the update you'll likely break the flash. It least the data part. Talk and text will probably still work, but I'd better the data wont.
