Droid X does Smileys??

My wife has a BB and when she sends smiley's all i get are symbols.... Anyone know how to get the smiley's at least droid style??/?

How is she sending them?

For example: ": )" will not result in an image, but "" will.

The Droid does have images that appear if you enter the correct "smiley format".

from what i've heard the droid has the images, but i've received many smilies on my x and never seen one.
