Droid X Disable 3gg

Im new to android as the droid x is my first android phone and my first smartphone all together. I have been told that 3g uses up a lot of battery life as i am a person who enjoys listening to music and watching videos on my droid x i was wondering if it was possible to disable 3g until I wanted to use it.

Any help on this would be great! I already get decent battery life with my phone but I would see this as making the droid x have GREAT battery life

apndroid should be able to do this. also just market search 3G toggle to find something to your liking

Sure does, i work construction so i have long periods where i dont use my phone. With 3g off i have went 6hrs and only lost 9% battery. For me it works great

Apndroid doesn't work with VZW/CDMA. Anyone know of a 3G toggle app that works on CDMA networks? Also, does 3G reduce battery life on CDMA or only on GSM?
