Droid X, ChompSMS, and lag...lockscreen?

Not sure what is causing it, but I'm getting lag when unlocking the phone with the slider. Kinda sad considering the speed of this phone ... but it lags worse with ChompSMS, like if I have a missed message and I slide to unlock to answer it. But even without a message it lags a bit, maybe .5 second or more when I unlock. Kinda bad, no?

EDIT: Ok the lock screen is gone, but after I get a Chomp text pop up the lock screen reappears, but only then. How can I fix that?
