I restored my Droid X back to factory settings and now every app I download I get a "App installed unsuccessfully" "installation error, Unknown Reason -18" I cleared my Market Data/Cache and I'm still unable to get apps. I keep reading about Rooting and Unrooting but I have no clue what that is. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Jesse B.

You know my wife got the same error on her phone. She was trying to download the sims 3. Things is she has never rooted her dx. She is hashing it out with ea through email trying to get it fixed. I hope you find an answer as I am curious about this as well

I figured it out. Plug your phone into your pc and select mass storage mode. Then open the. android_secure file and delete smdl2tmp1.asec and your problem should go away.
