Droid Won't Save to Internal Mem

Hi guys,
My wife just got a new Droid to replace her broken one and it will not allow her to take pictures or save attachments or anything- it says something to the effect of "SD card not mounted" which is correct, because there is no SD card in it.
My Droid (before I got the Thunderbolt) and her first Droid never had this issue and neither had an SD card in it. I would rather not buy an SD card, and I wanted to see if there was a really easy fix (probably some setting somewhere I missed) before I called Verizon.

Thanks everyone

I dont follow, but then again, I have a Droid X...but I dont see it being much different. As such, the default setting is to save images to the SD Card in the DCIM folder....are you positive that neither of the previous phones did not have an SD card installed?

I dont know of anyway to designate the OS to save photos to the internal memory, especially seeing as it is such a small amount of memory to start with...
