Droid w/ 2.2 question

I have a droid w/ 2.2 & it is already rooted, my question is are the ROM's the same for 2.2 as 2.1 etc or if I install a ROM meant for 2.1 is it going to lock up my phone, I am very new to this, have been reading up on it the last 4 hours & just now got it rooted LOL

If you flash a ROM that is 2.1, then that is what you would end up with once done.

You would be back to a 2.1 phone with that ROM.

So stay with the 2.2 ROM's.

ok thats what i kinda figured, is there any 2.2 ROM's availible? I have been searching and reading so long all the words are bluring together.. lol

there & although the wording was a little differnt it all seemed to go pretty smooth, restarted the droid & its the same as it was before i started.
