Droid Turned Me Into A Criminal

I was out working in the field all day and I have to manually search my contacts each time to make a call. I try not to do this while driving and save my searching for the stoplights. I am in a hands-free state so a cop my not have the same opinion.

I know you cannot use the Bluetooth to pull up a number and I am unable to use the voice dial as it always states "please try again" or "try restarting your phone". I hope this is a top priority in the next update or this may be a gateway crime for me and I could move up to taking mattress tags off beds. :icon_ banana:

you can make a direct dial short cut and keep the most frequently called numbers in a folder on the desktop. maybe this will help.

wow, that's too bad. The voice dial (non bt of course) works great for me. Are you talking about hitting the search bar twice? If so, try saying "call Joe Smith mobile" or whatever more quickly...

If you make a folder on your desktop, is there any way to get it to close automatically? I tried that when I first got the droid, but when I tried putting the phone away after a call I accidentally called other people.

lol......

There is an app for BT dialing and for the life of me I cannot remember what it's called.

Somebody will wander in here and know what it is.

Nobody ever mentions the Blue Ant Q1. That headset go es you totally hands free calls for up to 8 contacts.

there is a tapdialer app, you program the numbers you call most, and you just tap the given numbers amount. (Example: mom is #3, so you tap your screen 3 times)

With the help of drmoon68 and several others, we have determined we start to slow down during recognition when there are over 500 phone contacts. (1400 contacts can take 45 seconds!) This is our top bug, and is now documented in the troubleshooting secion of the DFXmobile website.

The forum members here have been the source of some of our most enthusiastic references and deserve to have current info.

I have over 2300 contacts, most are on exchange and a handful from gmail. This may be part of my problem.

i use blueant q1 ;) it now streams media i luv it !!!

Yes, I know you do. You and I seem to be the only two in this forum who use it. Well, it's not like we didn't try to tell everyone else.:)
I was going to buy a blueant but it was to expensive. I lost the last two bluetooths that I had, so when I bought the last one I opted for a middle of the road device. Now that I keep hearing good things about Blueant I'm going to save up for one. The media streaming is enough alone for me to want to buy one. Thanks for the info ya'll :)
