Droid Screen Time Out Extension

Can the display be programmed to be on indefinitely? The screen time out max is 30 minutes per menu. What good is a nighttime display clock if it turns off after 30 minutes?

Under Settings -> Applications -> Development there is a Stay awake option that prevents sleep while plugged in/charging.

I've read that in multimedia dock mode (activated by multimedia dock and possibly also by DockRunner app) the auto screen off is disabled.
