Droid Razr M stuck in endless loop

So my phone died today, no big deal. Then, when I plug it in to charge, a minute later it turns itself on, despite me doing nothing. So it turns on, then doesn't have enough battery to sustain itself, and turns off. It's as if it stops charging as soon as it turns on, and I can't just charge it while it's off because it turns itself on as soon as I plug it in. Very frustrating, please help.

Are you using the stock OEM charger and charging cable? Is the phone modded in any way?

I was using the USB charger that came with the phone. I fixed the issue by unplugging my phone while charging, waiting a minute, then plugged it back in. This staggered the effects, and allowed it to charge quickly after turning it self on automatically, getting it to 1% so it wouldn't die.
