droid razr charger port broken

My droid razr recently stopped working; I know its because the charger port is broken. I dont have insurance but was wondering if it is possible to retrieve information from the phone by either fixing the port (without wiping all the information), or somehow take the battery out and charge it some other way, to get back into my phone. I have 100s of personal music recordings stored on my phone and am somewhat devastated that I dont know if I can get them back.

Please let me know if anybody knows a way.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

In these situations, there is good news and bad news. The good news is the port can probably be repaired. The bad news is that no ordinary Joe can repair it. You'd need a soldering iron, and soldering experience, as the port itself is attached to the main board by five pretty small prongs, which would take an experienced technician to solder.

There is also the possibility of ordering a new battery, and hoping that it's charged when you receive it. Then, depending on the RAZR model, you can move all your information to an SD card. Speaking of model, which model RAZR is it?

Unfortunately, I don't think you have too many options. If the data on your phone is a must have, then you will need to get the phone repaired.

I can confirm that a good technician can replace your charging port and keep your data intact. I've done it hundreds of times.
