Droid not being recognized by computer

Trying to synch movies using DVDcatalyst but when I plug in my Droid to my computer it doesn't recognize it. My computer shows the Drive the Droid is plugged into as "no media". Is this a defect w/ the SD card or am I missing something? Do I need to take out the SD card and plug it directly to computer??

go to the top bar notification and set the sd card to mount to the cpu.
