A new update is coming for the Motorola Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra. The invite was just sent out to owners of these devices. For now we will hold off on speculating whether it is Android 5.0 Lollipop or just a "maintenance" update, as there is no indication either way just yet.

Although we hold out hope that it is Lollipop, it seems unlikely, and is probably just a few bug fixes. Here's the content of the email invite (redacted for the privacy of our source):

Should be interesting to see what this update is... The maxx doesn't have a need for volte.. But it could be something like that that I guess...

Lots of people might be sorta upset if it turns out to be lollipop..

Hopefully it brings back the jedi wave. That was my favorite feature of active display. I don't like having to bump the phone to see what time it is.

It could be one of those soaks that takes a while before it happens . Not like that hasn't happened before..
