Am I reading this right, Droid Maxx android version 4.4 cannot be rooted?

No root and there will probably never be root.

If you already updated to 4.4 , sounds like you are SOL ... But if you ever end up needing a replacement CLNR phone , they come shipped with 4.2.2...

Ok thanks, but what is the reason people say there will never be a root?
I remember when people said that Dish network TV would never be hacked again, and they were wrong

There's still people trying to find a way , and there's still a bounty for someone who can figure it out as far as I know.... Nothing is unhackable , just getting harder to find workable exploits

OK, I see, about the same as TV
just takes time, and some times a lot of time.
I am new to the phone, first smart phone and sure wanted to hack it,
oh well
