droid flashing/OS download

So my daughter brings me her droid last night (a855) and it is showing black screen with boot loader info and battery ok plug in usb cable. So of course i reboot multiple times, pull battery out etc... and still no go. So after researching I come across that the dpad could be hanging on left side. so i spend about 30 minutes pressing, pushing everything on the dpad... seemed to be clicking fine in all directions... reboot same thing. So I tried to do a reset of factory settings and I came across with the "unable to start engine! aux_status = 1 " data wipe and cache both were done. after that I began getting low battery unable to program messages...even after the phone had been plugged in most of the day.

Toook the phone up to the verizon store to see if they could do anything and the girl claims that she couldnt get the phone to even come on (of course warranty is way outdated).

Bring it home, plugged it in and i get it back up to the low battery screen.
I find a 2.2 upgrade zip file thats for unrooted phones that was legit. Put it on my sd card and tried to install that..... it found the file, but got a couple of error messages of files within the zip and it aborted the installation.

Im at my wits end? My question is ... is there anyway I can the original OS for download so I can reflash. My guess is there is a corrupted file... I dont know...

Any Help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

The phone is out of warranty and unrooted

Thank you both for your responses... went to friends and had him charge my battery. Downloaded RSD lite and followed instructions got to 99% phone rebooted right back to bootloader and status was failed. Tried suggestions from both and even tried the two different sbf files and both failed... not for sure what may have went wrong. It would fail when the status got to the bypass mode.....:icon_evil:

Im at my wits end...lol

Here is update........... still not making any progress........

I have flashed and flashed multiple times using rsd lite. Here is what occurs.

1. in the "model" section it does not say "motorola" it says "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI"........... which I read that its my phone so i guess that is ok.

2. I start flashing... my phone says something to the affect off update in progress, and RSD gets all the way to 99%, then my phone reads sw update complete and reboots itself... while rsd lite... it still doing stuff.

3. My phone reboots itself back to the bootloader. RSD lite is saying something about Phone 000 switching to some kind of mode (cant remember what it says" ... then i end up getting a "Flash Failed".

4. I unplug from computer and reboot my phone, and sometimes it boots back to the boot loader screeen and sometimes it boots to a blank screen and then starts continually rebooting itself.

5. I have tried to go in a do factory resets, and i eventually get e: open dev ... multiple times... then it says it tried too many times and stops.

I dont know what else to do... am I missing something???? doing something wrong?? I have googled.. read.... and done just about everything.. Please Help!!!

THanks!

You need the error code you are getting.

Should be a hex code.

Then we can help you.

Does he need to "catch the boot" to pass? Usually doesn't cause errors but you might find the recovery is tripped.

By his steps it doesn't look like he caught the boot.

what do u guys mean by "catching the boot". I've read that they want you to boot back to loader once the phone reboots... Problem is mine reboots to loader without even trying to make it, after the flash

When u apply the sbf, watch the progress, as the phone hits the reboot point(it says it in rsdlite), hold up on the D pad as it turns off and keep holding up until it turns on back to the bootloader. You will see PASS then.

it always gets to 99% and never says when the phone is to reboot.... I read somewhere where it RSD is suppose to tell u when phone is rebooting, but i've never seen it
