Droid ceasing to show up on My Computer

Alright, when I first got my Droid, it did that much. It showed up. As for Motorola's media manager via computer, it worked..once. Afterwards, it could not connect to my droid no matter what mode I set it to. My droid reads the SD card and it's own storage, but my computer pick up neither.

An error message I get while connecting the droid is this one, "MTP USB device not successfully installed." Well, this would seem like a critical feature, and for whatever reason, it is not installing.

Computer Specs:
Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit
6GB RAM
2.8GHz Quad Core processor (AMD Athlon II)

Is MotoHelper installed on your comp? It seems to me like you need the latest drivers, when they get installed, MotoHelper does too.

It is. Motohelper is what tries to open the Motorola program that lets me access my phone. It opens the program, but the program says to Pin unlock or plug in my phone. I have tried USB and computer settings while it is plugged in. The driver still fails to install will reinstalling MotoHelper.

Hmm...I'd say uninstall all MotoHelper and related stuff, MediaLink, everything, reboot the comp and start again as if you were doing this for the first time. Kinda weird that it worked fine at first, your phone recognizes everything but now your pc won't recognize the phone. But give the fresh install a shot, make sure not to make any changes on the phone at all until the drivers are successfully installed.

Just tried. No luck. :/ This is rather aggravating. I am using Zumocast and downloading files over wifi for now until I can get this fixed. I guess it works as a substitute.
