Droid Bionic trade in?

I heard many trade ins for the bionic posts,and I was wondering if the trade in is free,because i saw many posts saying verizon switched my bionic to a rezound others say nexus.Anyone did it,and is it free?

I am sure this was for people who had ongoing and well documented issues. It isn't just a trade-in for people wanting a new phone. When a swap for a different device is made there is no charge in most cases. In my particular case I was having ongoing data issues with my Gnex. Instead of swapping it out for something I did not want VZW gave me an extremely early upgrade on another line that allowed me to purchase the RAZR Maxx at the discount price and still keep the Gnex. Which I sold for a good price.
