Droid bionic: Camera unable to initialize

My droid bionic camera has started giving me the message "camera unable to initialize" whenever i try to open the app, and then the app just closes.
My camcorder acts as if it records, but it's just a black screen with no images showing up.

I have no idea what's goin on with it. Please help. Thanks.

Go into applications in settings and clear data
