I have a couple of problems. Probably one problem with several indicators. I own my Droid, PagePlus, I don't mind breaking the phone. I'm bored and would rather learn and fix. Or at least learn.
I've had my droid about a year. Been good. A few weeks ago several things started happening:
My Droid randomly reboots or shuts down.
-When it reboots, it stays off and shows the battery as charging. Stays at 60%, Regardless as to what the battery actually is.
-When I want to actually reboot it, I have to keep the power button held down and it kind of struggles through the bootup process. If I hold the power button down to get it through reboot, my chances are improved it will turn on.
-If I force the bootup by holding the power button down, it does better if it's connected to a power supply (laptop or outlet) It only sees the battery as 60%, however if it's charged, it will says 60%, then about ten seconds after it's on, it realizes it's fully charged and will switch to the fully charged message.
-When it boots up, previously, before problems began occurring, once it got past the 'Motorola M' and onto the Droid, it would say 'Droid'. Now, it's silent during boot. However, if I can manage to have it stay powered on, when I receive a text message it will say 'Droid'.
-I've done a factory reboot, didn't download any third party apps, and it says my software version is up to date.
-I have bought a new battery. This problem continued. Not the battery.
-There are times when it is powered up, it will stay powered up, but once I use the slider to get into the phone and make a few more touch screen moves, it will shut itself down. This isn't consistent enough though.
I didn't mess around with the Droid too much, I've rooted, flashed and ported other phones. The Droid programmed fine with PagePlus so I didn't mess it with it. However, I don't mind tinkering around with this one (what, I might break it more? lol). If anyone has any suggestions for a fix and where to begin looking to save me some time, much appreciated.
