Droid 2 Rattle

Artoo

New Member
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, and just got my Droid 2 in the mail today. Anyways, like an idiot I dropped it already onto my hardwood floor. It was about 2 feet. The first thing I did when I picked it up was make sure that it wasn't broken. When I shake it, I hear a rattling noise. I believe its the headphone input. I don't know if it was there before I dropped it.

Could you all do me a favor and shake your phone next to your ear and tell me if I messed up my baby? Or if it is just something with the model. Thanks.

Have never dropped mine, even a little, and I hear a slight rattle when shaking it next to my ear. Kind of like a very light clicking.

Thanks Redflea,

I want to get some more people to try it and see. I have no idea what it could be, but mine seems to stop when i put in the headphones. Try yours with the headphones in. Thanks

Mine is completely silent when I shake it and I've dropped it on hard wood floors a couple of times from about 2-3 feet.

Have you made sure your SD card, battery, and battery door are completely and securely in place?

Since you are probably within your first 30 days, you may want to talk to Verizon about getting a replacement if you notice things don't work right.

I second redflea on the tiny clicks. Really minuscule though, never would have noticed it had I not been listening for it.

I have a TINY little rattle noise when I shake mine really hard. Headphone jack may have some spring or something to hold the plug in.

My HTC incredible used to rattle and make creaking sounds and I never dropped it either.

Ive taken the phone apart before the clicking is the speaker mount. its only held in place by the covering it has no screw points. what you hear is prob that part jiggling around a little
