Droid 2 is having Gingerbread ported keyboard problems!

I installed the Gingerbread port of the Android keyboard to my Droid 2, which is running Apex 1.0.2.5. The only problem with my on-screen keyboard is that it is extremely small. Possibly half the size of the stock keyboard. I tried messing with my screen density in Droid Overclock, but nothing helped. Any ideas?

Off topic, but when can Droid 2 owners expect a legit 2.3 Gingerbread update?
