You can't do an updated when rooted, you need to be stock. And I heard that the D3 root method can't SBF or whatever, it's totally perm.

First part of the statement is a lie. You can roll your system back to the original state if you want. All you need is use ADB again to remove stuff that was added/restore the files that were modified.

Second part of the statement is also a lie. SBF depends on a special loader which is in a signed partition. The rooting process does not touch anything except /system and /data. Both those partitions are erased during SBF.
