Droid 2 Global reboots when app accesses GPS!

Funny with the first batch of responses you were willing to get another phone. Then as soon as a few people came and said they had an issue, and btw not all of them seem to have the exact same issue you were having then its " aha, I knew there was a problem with this phone." And none of them that I saw said they attempted a Factory Data Reset like you did.

Just get a replacement for the phone or if you're still in your 30 day period get another phone. I have a D2 and I don't have that issue.

I actually am waiting to get the HTC Merge and have been waiting it out to see if it will be released but looks like it really isn't going to come out anymore so I think I really will return it before the 30 days is up. The bugs on this phone isn't imaginary it's a problem with the Manufacturer. Not only this GPS thing which isn't that big a deal because when it works it stays working for a while, but it's the corporate email sync that's rediculous especially for a phone marketed for the global corporate email user.

I'm not at all saying your issues are imaginary. I think they are real. But you can't declare it as a bug when others don't have this issue. If you get a replacement and it happens again Then you might have an issue. You certainly did the proper fixes for it.

I think the problem is hardware related. If it is a software bug then other users with the same version of software and firmware would have the same problem too.

same issue

I've been configuring two droid 2 globals at the same time, with all the same settings, apps, tweaks, etc. The white one has rebooted twice when launching a GPS app and the blue one hasn't ever. Now that I'm aware of what's causing it, I'm pushing it by launching all of the GPS apps repeatedly but I haven't had it reboot a third time ... yet.

I agree with those above that it appears to be a hardware issue though I haven't tried "safe mode" nor a factory reset.

The rebooting dropped off after I did a factory reset, and then I ended up exchanging the phone (for another D2G) because of a different issue. The second phone hasn't rebooted at all.

Just got back from a trip to Italy, my phone has been shutting off and rebooting at random, six times so far today.
I have had GPS turned off all day today
