Droid 2 Global can't access recovery???

So I'm trying to flash Cyanogenmod and no matter what method I try either it's Koush's bootstrap app, or ROM manager my D2G just reboots instead of going into recovery. How can I fix this?! It's driving me crazy because I miss my Gingerbreadified Droid 2 (long story) and I can't stand Froyo or the version of blur this things running!

Try rebooting phone. When you see boot logo, pull battery, wait a few seconds, reinsert battery. Now when you power on it should boot into cwm. Have battery cover off so you are ready to pull battery at logo. M logo, not droid eye or whatever your animation is on D2G. Batttery pulling works on D2, don't know about D2G.
