Just read today that Gingerbread is not too far down the road for the X which means we should get it around the same time. Good news for X/2 lovers everywhere!

From what I read it was the official OTA version. But who really knows? (Motorola =P)

Droid X Gingerbread release in advance may usurp iPhone | Droid-X.org

I have read many stories similar to the one in the link. It has been seen on the X but if we can easily get X ROMs to work on the 2 i'm sure the same SHOULD go for the OTA.
