Droid 1 will not vibrate

My sons Verizon Droid 1 will not vibrate when getting a text or phone call. It vibrated when you turn down the volume with the button. It has been recently factory reset. Please help with any ideas.

Open up your txt messaging and press the menu button for message settings scroll down...to notification settings,vibrate setting should be at the very bottom ..
