My Moto Droid1 just started having an annoying problem: every 10 seconds the display flashes on for one second, running down the battery. I tried pulling the battery a couple of times, but no help. Anyone else deal with this problem?

Did you just install something?
Sounds like an app is trying to prevent the phone from sleeping.

I did just install Tripit, but haven't used it. I will try uninstalling that app and report whether or not it eliminates the problem.

Use Screebl to keep your phone active while you are using it. When you get it there's a video with instructions.

Thanks for the info on Screebl, and for the welcome to the forum. I'm hesitant to load up another app, though, without troubleshooting the source of the current situation. I have also considering rotting the little robot, but haven't yet been convinced of the overall benefits vs the tradeoff of potential bricking.

Now I need to fill out more of my user info!

Reboot...you turned it off? pulled the battery? put it to sleep?
Tripit doesn't mention a permission to prevent the phone from sleeping.
