Droi X2 update 1.3.232.en.US - can I re-root this?

I have a Droid X2 and its rooted. I've been bugged about installing this update that says 1.3.232.en.US. I want to get rid of this stupid notification. So I figure I have to install the damn update. Will this remove the root from my phone? If so can I reinstall it easily? I used gingerbreak if that makes any difference at all.

Just install the rooted version from p3. Google mydroidworld x2. It'll be one of the first few hits.

That is what i have installed. The pre-rooted one to be exact.

Now im getting a message "Download of update failed" almost every time i unlock the phone. should i reinstall the P3 update?
