Driod X will not turn on anymore

my friend has a driod x and it was working fine then he went to go use it now it wont turn on.
when i plug it into the outlet the green light pops on for a sec then goes off. When i put it into the usb on a pc the green light stays on but still will not turn on. i have tried while it was plugged it taken out the batter and the sd card just to see if that would do any thing.
if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be b/c i am confused on this one.
