Does the update fix the searching for GPS issue?

YES! locks in under a second outdoors and doesn't take much longer indoors.

i can also verify GPS performance is greatly improved with the update.

I find it takes a few minutes to lock on outdoors. I think this is a least some improvement, but I still seem to drive about 2+ miles on local roads before it kicks in. Others seem to have better luck.
