Does the droid get the checkerboard effect?

No, the Droid is fluid when web browsing(assuming that's what you meant). Did you have a Pre before? I had one up until 1.3.2 that did that, apparently it was fixed in 1.3.5...

i'm not following what you're laying down. are you talking about screen refresh issues? your best bet would be to try one out. i have never seen what you're describing.

I've also seen it on iPod touches and 3gs though it's much better on those than it was on my old phone. Never seen it at all? Even when scrolling when the page is still loading?

That's one thing that drives me insane about my phone.
