Do droid people keep their ipods/ zunes?

I still keep my iPod touch for more travel listening since It's 32 gb. however, with Android Froyo's addition/implementation of music streaming I may not need it anymore.

Same here. 120gb iPod and not ready to give it up.

For long car trips it gets attached to the cassette adapter.

Often times I'll go to sleep with earbuds in. With this case Amazon.com: Griffin iClear Hard-Shell Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Clear): Electronics I don't worry about elbowing the display in my sleep, which is what I think may have cracked a previous ipod's screen. While I love my droid and all I'm not ready to spend the night with it yet ;)

I also find it an easy method to load up some movies and then video output them to a tv. When we visit relatives we'll do that vs bringing a bunch of dvd's.

Once the Droid can stream music from our computers I'll see if its a game changer. If it ALSO streams videos I'll be psyched.

Im curious. Do you use your droid as your primary music player?
What is the reason? Capacity, preference, other?
Nope.

Capacity (iPod is a classic with 80GB), the head unit in my car interfaces very well with the iPod and I can leave the iPod in the car (and out of sight since I control the iPod via the head unit).

...and the iPod has an IR remote that works with it in a dock which is handy at home.

the WHAT?

lol

I actually found at Pepboys, a AM/FM cassette player with knob tuning/volume that has a AUX input. I have thought seriously about putting that in my Jeep since it has the input, and is cheap enough I don't care if it gets dusty/wet.

I don't use CD's anymore, so whether or not a head unit has a CD, or cassette, or 8track player concerns me not. I just need to have AT LEAST, a aux input

Probably only thing stopping me from getting it, is the fact that I would also have to buy the $30 DIN mount, bringing the total of the "cheap" unit up to the same price as I would spend at Crutchfield for a head unit (with more features) that has the DIN mounting unit included for free.

I have a cheaper headunit in the xterra that is just a aux/sd/usb input (no cd player which is fine) Move that to the jeep, order a nicer blue-toof receiver from Crutchfield (and just get the DIN for the Jeep since I already have one for the Xterra)

Can't believe no one has mentioned Zune Pass. I will probably get a ZuneHD if they ever release a 64GB model. I can't see getting the 32GB when I already have the older style 30GB Zune that works perfectly. I installed an adapter in my truck so as soon as I turn on the ignition it starts playing my Zune (and charges it). As great as the Droid (and now Incredible) are they will never be my primary music player. Unless a Zune Pass app is released. :)

I still have my old 80gb Zune, but only because selling it doen't seem worth the price. It just sadly lays in my glove box... maybe give it to a buddy someday soon...

I had this very same question:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...dicated-mp3-player-vs-zune-hd-itouch-etc.html

In the end, I decided to just get an ipod classic. The Droid's 16GB def wasn't enough, and now with 10 times that amount, I will never have to worry about capacity concerns. The Ipod/Zune are better music player anyways. Not saying the droid is bad, but a dedicated mp3 player compared to a phone with an mp3 player will always be better. I also wanted a line level/dock output for my car's AUX input, which the ipod (and zune, sort of) have.

holy cow

I have a 32GB iphone 3gs as my personal phone/device.

A droid is my work phone.

I also have a 160GB ipod classic

And a 16GB 5th gen Nano.

And an ipod touch.

I use all of them for different reasons, but I also have around 80gigs of music and around 400 movies on my Mac, so I can use all the space I can get ;) Not to mention about 6k pics and whatnot.

keep and use them all.

keep a smaller music set on the droid for occasional listening or time killing. ipod classic for the bulk of my collection and a ipod mini for gym use.

i prefer a dedicated mp3 platform. the droid is nice, easy to use but it'll never take the place of an ipod IMO

I have wayyy too much music to put solely on my droid. navigation of music isn't the droids forte... you can navigate any amount of music on an iPod within seconds. plus i installed iPod connectors in both my cars and the volume is much louder on the iPod than the droid. I only have my favorites on my droid since the droid is with me everywhere i go.

I use the droid for phone, mail and calender apps mostly. I have a itouch 64gb that I use for music. I format/ purchase most of my music in aac lossless and prefer that. Now if the droid could handle 1 tb sd cards, I would consider it.

I still use my 80GB iPod Classic for long car trips and at the gym, but I've started leaving it at home and just using my Droid for music at work. I don't see myself giving up the iPod though. The extra capacity is worth occasionally having to carry two devices, IMO.

I use both my iPod and Droid. I have all my music on my iPod. It usually stays in the glove box of my car. It's hooked up to my car stereo. So in my car I have a choice of listening to either my iPod or Sirius.

I put quite a bit of music on my Droid, not all of it (I have a lot more music than the Droid will hold). I use the Droid to listen to music if I am not in my car.

I travel internationally occasionally for work. I haven't traveled since I got my Droid but will probably leave it at home and just use my iPod.

I'm a horrible MP3 player addict. I currently own:

• Creative Zen Vision:M 60GB
• Ipod 5th Gen 30GB
• Cowon S9 32GB
• ZuneHD 32GB
• Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB
• Moto Droid (16GB)
• Droid Incredible (24gb)
• Sansa Fuze (4gb)
• Sansa Clip (1gb)

And I think I have another iPod laying around somewhere....
