DNA comes tomorrow... how do I get my pics from my Droid 3 on MiscroSD card onto DNA?

Oh well... Its only a buck.
Did you buy the card or is it one that came with the phone?I'm guessing you don't have a sleeve for it. You should have the data cable, right ?

The card I believe came with the LG Ally I had before the Droid 3... so no sleeve. The data cable is the cable that connects phone to computer and also charges it via USB, right? Yes I have like 3 of those (if that is what you are referring too).

That's the one. Plug your phone into the computer and you should see a window pop up. Click on the open files option and you can browse all your files. Copy/paste/move... Do whatever. Do the same with the DNA. Then its just drag and drop as you would anything else when moving things around on your computer.

Without using a Card Reader, can I plug my phone via USB to the comp and will the folders be there?

I only have 96 photos (nothing crazy I don't think).

I can locate the DCIM file if it opens on the desktop and just transfer it over.

You might also check out AirDroid! Great app, allows you to connect your Android phone to your PC wirelessly, as long as they're both connected to the same WiFi network.

I used AirDroid just last night to tranfer photos from my Asus Transformer Prime to my DNA, and it went very smoothly and quickly! Easier then plugging cables in, to connect to your PC.

I have to do it this way because something is messed up in the old phone and I can't get it to sync via USB.

So what I did. I downloaded AirDroid on my old phone..... downloaded the photos to the computer, they are in a zip folder.

How do I get them on the new DNA Phone? (I downloaded AirDroid on the new phone also)

When you pluged your D3 into your pc, did anything pop up on your pc screen?
You might have needed to set the D3 to mass storage.

Where would I do that?

When I plugged it in ... thing on bottom right said can't connect to USB... it seemed maybe like a setting. Unable to connect to USB. it would charge it just not open it up like the folders.

Go into settings/storage and see if their is a choice for usb mass storage or charge only. (its been a long time since I was on gingerbread)

use a file explorer app and copy the DCIM folder to your sd card and then remove the card and put it in you pc or dna and copy it back in

He doesnt have a card reader. All he has is the data cable but when he plugged in he said he couldn't browse the files in the phone.

than install dropbox off of play and upload that folder to there. then dl dropbox on the dna and dl the pics to there.

Good call. Get Astro or AndroZip file explorers. I like androzip for unpacking files but prefer astro to browse my files. They both do the same thing but with different UIs.
