we've all read that the back cover of the rezound is the antenna.

if one takes off the back cover one sees strange metal shapes in the cover which must be the antenna.

if one examines the extended battery back cover, one notices much less metal.

in general, the higher the frequency the shorter the antenna will be.

I wonder if the extended battery back cover will not service lower MHz frequencies like the longer antenna in the standard battery back cover?

perhaps this may cause different results among people trying to use the rezound on GSM network?

maybe the standard back cover comes from htc and is designed for a global phone. And the extended battery cover comes from Verizon and is only designed for Verizon's frequencies?

The antennas in the extended case are just covered up with a back material of some type.

This. When I tested the signal of extended vs. Regular case signal strength I couldn't discern a difference.
