Did the Motorola Droid Bionic just clear the FCC?

I could have sworn that moto released a statement saying it was going to be upgraded to a faster processor. 1Ghz is what it was originally.

Sigh, those specs just deflated my hype balloon. I was hoping for at least 1.2ghz. And why don't they give this phone the same capacity battery as the Atrix? Especially considering this phone is actually LTE and would need it more.

Err, I won't survive the wait for anything after this phone, so I'll be forced to get it anyway.

The processor has probably been underclocked. All the info about the TI OMAP 4440 says that it's a 1.5GHz processor.

Even if the processor is only 1ghz I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's more than fast enough for anything in the immediate future and eventually you can always root it and then overclock it when you really need to.

word on the street from our Best Buy Mobile insider over on the AC forums is that it is an underclocked 4460 (per his VZW District rep he has been working with which gave him specifics). the thing is is that the 4440 got swapped to the 4460 so the rep may be using the origional data out of her training sheets that predates the switch. I've been really busy with best buy mobile and am trying to confirm final specs of the bionic. My rep insists its a "a lightning fast omap dual core 4440", but im not sure i believe her. She swears this is what was in the employees guide, but im pretty sure she meant a 4460.because she stated it was a "power vr gpu @ 384 mhz" . Whatever that means.

Wow if it really does have the OMAP 4460 then it has definitely been underclocked by 500 MHz.

Just underclock it when idle. I currently have my OG D1 overclocked to 1.1GHz and it still has good battery life, because most of the time it's idle and clocked at 250MHz.

on a bionic note. I think there is great potential in having an unlocked/underclocked phone.....possibilities are endless
