Dialing Error

Still working my way around, trying to find the right place for this.

I've had the new VZ Thunderbolt for about 2 months now. Love the phone, but there seems to be a bug in the dialer.

I've used Outlook for years to manage my personal and work contacts. When I put the phone number in using the #(###)###-#### format, Outlook automatically prepends a "+" to the number. So entering 1(212)555-1212 is stored as +1 (212) 555-1212.

What I've found is that for all my 201 area code contacts (New Jersey), the call is picked up as an international call and since the number does not seem to exist anywhere else, the call fails. To get it to work, I have to go into the contact number and remove the +.

I'd suck it up and update all my contacts, removing the + but this does not affect any other number.

Has anyone else seen this issue on the Thunderbolt or other phones? My previous phone was the Motorola Droid (v1) and I did not have this problem with that phone. So I suspect it is an issue with HTC.

Thanks!

I am now having a devil of a time with this. After returning home from an international trip, most of my numbers now have a +1 stored in front of every contact. I keep getting nailed with International calls even though technically dialing 1+area code + number should work just fine. Driving me crazy.
