I took an or so last night and completely cleaned out my inbox in gmail (Merlin Mann would be proud of me).

The gmail web interface on the droid, the full website on my browser and Thunerbird via IMAP all show 0 messages in my inbox and an empty trash.

The gmail app, however still has a bunch of threads in it, even after I synced it manually.

Anyone else seen this? Any way to fix it?

Lots of posts about this. Try going into settings, apps, manage, and filter all - then look for anyhting that says gmail (2 i think) and go into them and clear data &or cache... itll then have to reload, but should work...

Clearing the data and cache from gmail is also recommended if you encounter an error indicating your Droid is "low on memory."

Not sure about this, but I strongly suspect that "deleting" emails, whether on the Droid or on the gmail website can result in the emails being marked as deleted or moved to a deleted folder but not truly deleted from the phone.
