delete records of calls?

I have one of the original Motorola Droid phones, but the interface isn't much different from my wife's new Samsung Galaxy S4 - so I'm hoping someone can tell me how to delete blocks of the records of calls. There are hundreds of these each week, and deleting each record individually is a boring and time consuming task. Isn't there a way to delete these in blocks, or to delete the entire record?

Should be a menu option in the call log screen to clear the log out something similar.

Its been a long time, but if I remember correctly....open the Phone app, then open Call Log. Then open the Menu. Then Clear Call Log.

Excellent! After opening the Call Log, pressing the Menu button (bottom left of the phone) brings up the option to Clear List. (Now why couldn't I think of that??)
