Delays for the new nexus

I refuse to start playing this game. I will purchase something else even though I want this phone badly. And I'll do it because my D2 sucks now that it is on it's last leg.

So based on the article, Samsung and Google both agree that now is not the time to announce the galaxy nexus. This means they won't be announcing it at their next event and I wonder why they would delay it. Is something wrong or do they not want to compete with apple? Either way, what is another good venue for them to announce it this year?(I don't follow tech down to it's shows although I would enjoy going to a big show)
