date/time keeps changing

several times today (Saturday 10/20) I have checked the time on my Razr M and it says something whacked out Like 8:07am Monday Oct 22. I have power cycled it, tried finding a setting that would be pertinent to no avail. then it will revert to the correct date and time. check it again later and we're back to Monday. What gives?

Sorry, I can't give you any advice about your specific problem. My RAZR M clock doesn't reset. But its accuracy is surprisingly poor. When not set to sync with network time, it loses 10-15 sec/day. In a week it can be several minutes off. It would be completely unacceptable if it had to keep time on its own. This may or may not be related to your issue.

Somebody on my Facebook had a problem with their Android phone saying it was Oct. 16th today. They didn't have a Razr M, it looked like the S3's home screen, can't be sure though. Maybe it's a bigger problem than just the phone?

Hey I just got my Droid Razr M a few days ago and my time has been all over the place too. It will be fine one second and then it will say October 1 at a random time the next. It also sometimes says that its 8:45 AM instead of 8:45 PM for example. This doesn't happen all the time albeit, but it has been happening maybe 3-4ish times a day which I think is a lot.

For now I just manually set the time, but is this issue something wrong with ics or did I get a bad phone? Everything seems to work fine, just the time and date screw ups.

Also, it seems that maybe the time and date changes when the phone drops wifi connection. I could be wrong, but just a thought.

Idk, it's really weird and hopefully can be fixed bc I just got it and am spending a lot of money for Verizon...you would think they could get the time right!

Anybody know how to deal with this?

Where are you guys located that are having the problem? That apple thread seemed to conclude that it was a side effect of Verizon's expanding network. It also seemed that those located in certain geographic areas were having most of the problems.

date and time problems

Hello to all,
I have a razr M, and am having the same time and date issues, I turned off the phone and now it will not turn on. I am also having the phone time out while I am using it, even while talking on it, it will not change weather locations even as I am driving cross state. As the guy in sacramento has the problem I do as well when I travel through Sac. and in all other area's. I am begining to think these phones are p o s's and am getting frustrated. I am sure I cannot be the only one with this problem.

Hey guys

I had my phone switched out for a new one because I was within the 14 day exchange period. It's been 24 hours and the time and date have been on the money. Although the verizon people said it is a tower issue, that does not seem to be the case.

If the time or date changes on my new RAZR m I'll leg you guys know, but so far its fine.

problem solved?

OK, about a week ago I went to see me local dealer (Verizon Rep) about my problem, who, after asserting he knew "nothing about such a problem", proceeded to do some research. Ultimately he did a "reset" which means he held down the power button and the "volume down" end of the volume selector for about 30+ seconds. He also turned on the "stand alone GPS" before doing so. I CONSTANTLY toggle my GPS feature to manage my battery usage, so I wonder if I did some weird combination or if I should dismiss this part of the story. Nevertheless, I have had no time anomalies since. I have since had one incident when my phone "froze" (would not turn on and was completely unresponsive) I did the power/volume down trick and voila! now a happy owner for 45 days. given the capabilities of the phone, I consider these only minor setbacks.

Thanks for your participation? To be continued...

D

(edit to state: I am the OP)
