D2G intermittent unlock failure?

GF upgraded from her buggy D2G to a iPhone 4s.

One of the issues is the screen lock (swipe) won't work from time to time.
using the swipe to turn the ringer off/on works fine.

Any ideas? Known issue?

IIRC this is on Gingerbread. Can't verify right now due to above issue...
