D2G down and D3 is the replacement

My wife's Droid 2 Global has served her well for a few years now. It finally gave up today, and Asurion is sending a D3 as a replacement. What version of Android is most current, and are there any common nuances to learn about this device? It'll stay stock. She'll use it for calls, texts, and FB.

Gingerbread 2.3.4 is the most current. Common nuances? I can't think of anything in particular. Restart it every day - it tends to do better when it hasn't been running for a long time.
