D2G doesn't play nice with certain sim cards...?

For some reason today, after I tried out a different sim card, the phone refused to boot into anything but bootloader. Does anyone have a clue on what happened? (I'm in the sbf process right now aswell, no worries on recovering what's on it at least)

Most of the reports of trouble with other SIM cards has been with people unable to get a data connection. This sounds more serious! Does the SIM work in another phone?

The sim card did work in the phone, detected and all.
The phone did manage to boot up completely and then ask for a pin, but right after that, it started bootlooping. One battery pull later, it can't go past bootloader, had to sbf from there.
