Custom roms?

Hey android community. I'm decideing on flashing my htc thunderbolt. This would be the first time I have ever flashed a phone so I don't know if it would be a good idea for what I want out out my phone. If I was too flash my device really the only point of it would be to keep my phone running the best it could without extra unneeded apps. I have it rooted and I use a terminal to rename those apps now so do you guys think flashing it would be even worth it?

Pretty much I want my phone to run as smooth as possible and use the least amount of ram as possible. It actually runs good now but maybe it can be better. Or do you guys think I should just stick with it now? I'm not too worried about bricking it for I'm sure I can do everything correctly, I'm good with that sort of stuff. Maybe I should wait until theres better ROM's out for TB that meet my needs, maybe there already are, I'm not sure.

You've done the hard part, flashing roms is fun and easy, try checking out the development forum on Xda.
Make sure to create a stock back up and get to flashing.

sent from a sweet paper weight.

Okay thanks I'll check them out. If anyone else has any options feel free to share :)

Das bamf 1.4 removes bloat
Changes CPU frequency based on CPU load (battery savings)
Screen off 245 mhz
Wake up 576 mhz
CPU load > 60% ramps up to max CPU freq (set this max in SetCPU)
CPU load < 30% ramps down
Adryns kernels make the phone snappy even on stock CPU freq
You can grab the custom Rosie in Tb hacks section for Landscape Rosie and flash it so your phone's home screen will go landscape.

I wouldn't worry about bricking your phone. I don't think anyone has hard bricked their Tb yet.
