Custom ringtones

I want to embed custom ringtones without putting them into my music file. What is the extention and where in the SD card do they go...Thank you

Get on your pc mount your droid . Check mass storage. Then go to your device folders n make a folder and name it ringtones n place any ringtones you have in that folder n the x will find it. And you can do the same with a notification folder

I made a folder ringtones and placed my Mp3 ringtones in it and the ringtones still transfer to music folder. Should they have another extension?

Root/Media/Audio/Ringtones
In audio folder create Notifications, Alarms, and Music
Don't forget the caps
Has always worked for me

I put mine with my music and it found them, no problem. I used NERO to make a few and they have worked great. I am not a techie so I just did what I could to make it as easy as possible.
